DEME has successfully completed dredging works entailing the removal of one million cubic metres of soft sediment at the Port of Brest in France.

DEME mobilised the trailing suction hopper dredger Scheldt River and the cutter suction dredger Ganga for the sediment removal.

The project's primary objective was to deepen the access channel and berths of the newly constructed quay wall, which will be used in accommodating renewable energy projects.

DEME will reuse all the dredged material to create a new polder that is under final completion. The 10-hectare polder will serve as a handling and storage area for the port's ongoing development.
