The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) will provide classification services to the first floating heavy lift and installation vessel to be built in Taiwan.

Named Green Jade, the vessel has been commissioned by CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), a joint venture between Taiwanese shipbuilder CSBC Corporation and Belgian offshore contractor DEME.

The vessel will be built at CSBC's facilities for delivery in 2022. It will be deployed to serve the Taiwanese offshore wind market.

Green Jade will have a length of 216.5 metres, accommodation for 160 people, a 4,000-tonne capacity crane, a DP3 system, dual fuel engines, and a waste heat recovery system that converts heat from the exhaust gases and cooling water into electrical energy.
