Spain's Gondán Shipyard has launched a new stern trawler ordered by Norwegian fishing and aquaculture company Prestfjord.

Designed by Kongsberg Maritime, the ice class vessel has a length of 77.3 metres, a beam of 17 metres, a steel hull, and an aluminium superstructure. There will also be accommodation for 29 people as well as fish processing equipment.

The trawler is Gondán's second newbuilding project for Prestfjord. It will be used for cod and prawn catching in Arctic areas, the Barents Sea, and the waters of Svalbard.
