Nergård Havfiske, a subsidiary of Norwegian conglomerate the Nergård Group, has placed an order for a new stern trawler to be built by Vard.
The vessel will have a length of 80 metres, a beam of 17 metres, and catch handling facilities that will include a live fish tank, an advanced factory, holds for storing refrigerated and frozen catch, and ensilage tanks for storing heads and guts to secure full utilisation of biomass.
The hull will be built at Vard Braila in Romania while fitting out will take place at Vard Brattvaag in Norway in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The vessel will be the third trawler that Vard will supply to the same customer.
