Chile’s Naviera Orca christens newest wellboat

Chilean operator Naviera Orca formally named its newest wellboat in a ceremony at the facilities of Norwegian shipbuilder Larsnes Mek Verksted.

The Skipskompetanse-designed Orca Yka measures 79.3 by 15 metres and will be powered by a 2,999kW main engine driving a Finnoy propeller. The vessel will also have space for 13 people and a total live transport capacity of 2,800 cubic metres.

The wellboat was designed in compliance to DNV class rules.
