Aker BioMarine's newest vessel, Antarctic Endurance, was christened in a ceremony at Vard Shipyard in Ålseund, Norway, on Friday, January 18.
Built at a cost of €113 million (US$128.51 million), the vessel is the first to be designed and built from the outset as a dedicated krill harvester and transporter.
Antarctic Endurance has a length of 130 metres, a 6,300-cubic-metre cargo space that can hold 3,150 tonnes, and a MAK 12VM32E 6,720kW main engine.
