A search got underway off the coast of North Wales on the morning (local time) of Thursday, January 28, following concerns for an overdue fishing vessel with three people on board.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) stations at Llandudno, Conwy, Rhyl, Beaumaris, and Hoylake have deployed a total of seven lifeboats to an area off Llandulas to assist in the search for the unidentified vessel at the request of the HM Coastguard's Holyhead station. A coastguard helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft are also participating in the search.

The search effort was still ongoing as of 19:00 on Thursday.
