A Ro-Pax ferry came to the aid of four fishermen whose boat sustained damage in rough seas off the island province of Guimaras in the west-central Philippines on Sunday, January 10.

Starlite Venus, a ferry owned by local company Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corporation (CLC), was sailing from Batangas to Iloilo when it received a radio request from the Philippine Coast Guard at 03:10 local time to render assistance to four people on a small outrigger boat in distress 5.9 nautical miles west of the Lusaran Point Lighthouse on Guimaras.

The ferry immediately sailed to the fishing boat's location and brought all four occupants on board for medical treatment. They were later turned over to the coast guard in Iloilo.

CLC said the rescued fishermen are all in good health.
