The Geraldton Fishermen's Co-operative (GFC) in Western Australia recently celebrated the official opening of the world's largest recirculating aquaculture system.

Home to 80 tonnes of rock lobster, the full-service AU$23 million (US$18 million) Welshpool facility took three years of planning, design and construction to create. With travel time a critical factor, the new facility and network cuts the time it takes to get a rock lobster from the Indian Ocean off Western Australia to China from 30 hours to 16 hours.
