Netherlands-based Nauplius Workboats has completed conducting sea trials of a new shallow-draught, fish farm support workboat ordered by UK aquaculture support company Inverlussa Marine Services. Arthur Douglas is a near-identical sister of Geraldine Mary, which was delivered to Inverlussa in 2022.

Like its earlier sister, Arthur Douglas measures 21 by 8.35 metres and is built in compliance with MCA Cat 2 requirements. A hybrid propulsion arrangement includes two Doosan engines, two fixed-pitch propellers, generators, and a 37kWh battery pack. The main engines can deliver a bollard pull of approximately eight tonnes while the batteries can provide electrical power for the onboard living quarters for up to 24 hours if needed.

The deck cargo can accommodate up to 90 tonnes of cargo or two 20-foot containers. The deck layout is custom-designed for mooring work. The selection of deck equipment includes winches and a crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 75 tonnes.

Facilities are also available for fuel and water transfers. The accommodation spaces for four crewmembers include cabins, a galley/mess, and a shower/toilet.
