Norwegian aquaculture support specialist the FSV Group has taken delivery of a new workboat built by compatriot Sletta Verft.

Multi Navigator is the twelfth in a series of electric workboats built by Sletta Verft for FSV and the 22nd overall vessel to join FSV's current active fleet. Design work on the vessel was undertaken by Norwegian naval architecture firm Solstrand Trading.

The 18- by 10-metre vessel boasts a Corvus Energy battery with an output of 1,125 kWh, permitting 12-hour operations on electric power for reduced environmental impact in the sensitive waters in Norway's fish farms.

Also fitted are a Scania DI13 400kW generator and a propeller-and-gear arrangement supplied by Nogva Heimdal. The deck equipment includes a winch, guide pins and capstans from MB Hydraulikk and a Dimo crane.

FSV said Multi Navigator will operate with an unnamed Norwegian fish farming company under a long-term contract. Duties will include towing, supply/resupply, and maintenance.
