Norwegian aquaculture company Mowi has completed its acquisition of 51.28 per cent of the shares in Arctic Fish, an Atlantic salmon harvesting firm based in Iceland's Westfjords region.
The acquisition, which was recently approved by the European Commission, was completed for a total consideration of ISK26 billion (US$181.2 million).
Arctic Fish has licenses for 10 ASC-approved sites in total. The sites provide a maximum allowed biomass of 27,100 tonnes and another 4,800 tonnes pending approval.
