A vessel originally built for offshore platform supply duties has completed undergoing conversion work in preparation for its new role as a fish delousing boat.
Owned by Norwegian salmon harvester Froy Akvaressurs, ex-Skandi Texel was formerly operated by offshore specialist DOF following its delivery in 2006.
The modifications on the 69.5-metre vessel, since renamed Froy Challenger, include the installation of modern delousing equipment. Among these are 12 large filters that have a total rated cleaning capacity of 7,000 cubic metres per hour.
The conversion work on the vessel was carried out with technical support from local naval architects Marin Teknikk.
