Seattle, Washington-based naval companies the Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) and Silverback Marine have partnered to design a new series of compact tugs that can also be road-transportable.

The tugs will each have an LOA of 25 feet (7.62 metres), a beam of 14.5 feet (4.41 metres), a draught of just under four feet (1.2 metres), and a total installed power of 500 hp (372 kW). It will be capable of a bollard pull of 6.25 tons (5.66 tonnes) and a speed of 4.1 knots.

EBDG said the design is available with either electric, hybrid, or outboard propulsion options and can be further customised to fit a specific operation.
