Foss Maritime christened Jamie Ann, the first of four new tugs in a series under construction at Nichols Brothers Boat Builders, in a ceremony on Saturday, February 29.

The newbuild is powered by two MTU 5,120kW engines connected to a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system which Foss claims is capable of reducing particulate and NOx emissions to near zero.

Jamie Ann will soon depart for San Francisco where it will operate as part of Foss' harbour services fleet. Sister vessels Sarah Averick, Leisa Florence, and Rachael Allen are due to be delivered this year.
