Massachusetts-based Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding recently delivered a new all-aluminium launch to the Association of Maryland Pilots for its operations at the Port of Baltimore.
Built as the first unit in a new boat series, the vessel has a length of 48.5 feet (14.7 metres), a beam of 15.5 feet (4.7 metres), and a draught of four feet (1.2 metres). Power is provided by two Volvo Penta D13 600hp (447kW) diesel engines that deliver a speed of 30 knots.
Onboard equipment includes a refrigerator, two HVAC units, Furuno radars and VHF radios, a Teledyne FLIR thermal camera, and a powered rescue system mounted on the transom.
