US-based shipping company Intermarine has formed a new business unit focusing on bulk shipping services.

The newly founded Intermarine Bulk Carriers business unit will commercially manage the bulk carriers belonging to Intermarine's parent company the Harren Group, which consist of six vessels with a combined deadweight tonnage of 350,000.

Intermarine will offer multi-purpose (MPP) vessels as well as ECO OHBS Handysize bulk tonnage. Intermarine's bulk specialists will also act as commercial managers for the group's larger 76,000DWT to 95,000DWT bulkers, which are suitable for transporting project cargo.

Intermarine has also welcomed two secondhand MPP vessels to its fleet, namely, Industrial Ursula and Industrial Katharina. Each vessel is fitted with a 150-ton (152-tonne) crane.

The final takeover of the two vessels is scheduled for the summer of 2024.
