Eagle Bulk acquires scrubber-fitted Ultramax pair

US-based Eagle Bulk Shipping has purchased two modern scrubber-fitted Ultramax bulk carriers from unnamed owners.

The first vessel, which was built in 2015 and will be renamed Helsinki Eagle, has been acquired for US$16.5 million. The second vessel, which was built in 2016 and will be renamed Stockholm Eagle, has been acquired for US$17.65 million.

Both ships were constructed at Chengxi Shipyard in China. Closings are expected during the first quarter of 2021, with Stockholm Eagle being delivered to Eagle in the Atlantic basin.
