The US Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has confirmed that approximately US$47.5 million in federal grant funding will be awarded to selected projects nationwide to improve access, safety, and reliability of ferries and their passengers.
A total of 12 projects in 12 states will receive funding from the FTA's Passenger Ferry Grant Program.
The grants will fund projects to purchase, replace, or rehabilitate passenger ferries, terminals, and related infrastructure and equipment.
