New Jersey-based ferry operator SeaStreak has taken delivery of a new catamaran commuter vessel slated for operation between Monmouth County and New York City.

Built by Midship Marine of Harvey, Louisiana, Courageous arrived in SeaStreak's home port of Highland earlier this month. Operational sailings will commence on Monday, December 13.

SeaStreak vice president James D. Barker said the vessel's name was chosen to honour New Jersey's medical first responders.

The ferry has capacity for 600 passengers across three decks. The open third deck provides a full 360 degrees of visibility, making this part of the vessel an ideal venue for sightseeing cruises and private events.
