The new Royal Caribbean International cruise ship Wonder of the Seas has departed the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Naizaire, France, to conduct a four-day period of sea trials.
The builder will evaluate the ship's speed, fuel consumption, stability, noise, and vibration measurements to ensure the ship is operating correctly.
Once completed, Wonder of the Seas will become one of the largest cruise ships in the world with a length of 362 metres, a beam of 66 metres, and capacity for 6,800 passengers and 2,400 crewmembers. It is the fifth of a planned six Oasis-class ships ordered by Royal Caribbean.
