Norwegian Cruise Line is set to resume operational sailings in July 2021 after a suspension that has lasted over a year, the company confirmed on Tuesday, April 6.
The itineraries to be served will be in Europe and the Caribbean and will utilise three vessels that will operate with reduced passenger capacities.
Norwegian Jade (pictured) will sail on seven-day cruises from Piraeus to the Greek Isles starting July 25 while Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Gem will serve week-long itineraries out of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and La Romana, Dominican Republic, respectively, from August 7.
Norwegian Cruise Line President and CEO Harry Sommer said that all guests sailing aboard cruises with embarkation dates through October 31, 2021, will be required to be fully vaccinated and tested prior to boarding the company's ships.
The new Caribbean itineraries will provide guests with 10 to 11 hours of port time with each sailing featuring only two days at sea and four distinct ports of call. Meanwhile, guests sailing aboard Norwegian Jade's Greek Isles itinerary this summer and in the beginning of fall will arrive in a new destination every day with eight to nine hours of port time to explore.
Norwegian Cruise Line clarified, however, that all sailings originally scheduled from July through November 2021 on 10 other ships have been cancelled.
