South Ferry Company of Shelter Island, New York, has christened its newest Ro-Pax vessel, the recently completed Southern Cross.

The DeJong and Lebet-designed 30- by 12-metre newbuild will be the fifth vessel to join the South Ferry fleet following delivery by Blount Boats of Warren, Rhode Island. It will operate alongside its two near-identical sisters, the 2002-built Sunrise and the 2009-built Southside (pictured).

Southern Cross was originally ordered by South Ferry in early 2019.
