The newest addition to the Lindblad Expeditions cruise ship fleet will be operated on year-round sailings in the Galagapos Islands, the company said in a recent statement.

National Geographic Islander II will accommodate just 48 guests but will boast a one-to-one guest-to-crew ratio. An additional five expedition staff will also be embarked on each sailing.

The facilities on the refitted ship will include 26 suites, a marina, and a science centre.

National Geographic Islander II is the former Crystal Esprit, which was completed in Germany in 1991.
