US-based cruise company AmaWaterways has resumed its operations in Europe through a series of charter sailings on board the river cruise ship AmaKristina in Germany.

The company has also begun implementing enhanced health and safety protocols such as pre-boarding health questionnaires, daily health checks, and the inclusion of a designated public health officer on board the vessel to oversee the application of the new protocols.

Further, the vessel has been designed with fan coil individual air cooling and heating units, which eliminate any recirculation of air in staterooms or in public areas.

AmaKristina has been operating with no more than 100 guests on each sailing in accordance with current Covid-19 regulations in Germany. The policy of limiting the number of people on board will be implemented on each of AmaWaterways' other 150-guest ships once these resume their own operational sailings.
