US-based AmaWaterways has begun operating the new river cruise ship AmaDahlia to formally launch the company's Nile itineraries in Egypt.

The ship, which has 36 staterooms that can house up to 72 guests, departed Luxor on an inaugural seven-night cruise of the Nile early last week. Future sailings along the Nile will also include 11-night itineraries.

The river cruise will operate seasonally from September through the following June each year, sailing round-trip from Luxor to Aswan.
