TSM Windcat welcomes 24m crewboat to fleet
TSM Windcat, the joint venture between TSM and Windcat Workboats, has taken delivery of its second HSC-compliant, French-flagged crewboat capable of carrying 24 technicians at a speed of 30 knots.
TSM Windcat 52 measures 24 by seven metres and has a draught of two metres. IMO Tier III-compliant engines allow a significant reduction of CO2 and NOx emissions.
The crewboat's hull was built in France while the final equipment was installed in the Netherlands.
TSM Windcat 52 will operate on the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm for Ailes Marines from the beginning of March 2022.
Malaysia's Blue Petra orders firefighting crewboat from Singapore builder
Blue Petra, a fully owned subsidiary of Malaysia-based Great Ocean Supply and Services, has awarded Singapore shipbuilder Strategic Marine a contract for the construction of a 40-metre fast crewboat.
The vessel will operate in support of clients in the Malaysian oil and gas market following its scheduled delivery in the third quarter of 2022.
The crewboat's notable features will include a remote-controlled water monitor with a capacity of 1,200 cubic metres per hour, making it fully equipped to carry out external firefighting and standby safety duties. Power will be provided by three Caterpillar C32 engines driving fixed-pitch propellers.
Future UK-designed crewboats to operate on US East Coast
UK naval architects BMT has been awarded a contract to design three crewboats for construction, operations, and maintenance duties on Ørsted's South Fork wind farm.
The 88-foot (27-metre) vessels will each feature a lightweight Z-bow hull form to improve seakeeping characteristics as well as offer high efficiency, thereby reducing emissions. The large superstructure on each vessel will be fitted on resilient mounts that absorb noise and vibration.
The crewboats will also be utilised to carry and deliver cargo, with large foredeck areas to accommodate high volumes of goods.
The vessels will be built by Senesco Marine of Rhode Island under ABS classification meeting USCG subchapter L regulations.
International Naval Works selects UAE yard for crewboat newbuildings
Grandweld Shipyards in the UAE has been awarded a contract to build two 34-metre aluminium crewboats for International Naval Works (INW), a dive support service provider headquartered in Alexandria, Egypt.
Delivery will take place following a construction period of eight months.
Spanish yard secures repeat CSOV contract from Edda Wind
Norwegian windfarm service provider Edda Wind has selected Spain's Gondan for the construction of the fifth commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) in a series.
The Salt Ship-designed vessel will measure 88.3 by 19.7 metres and will have accommodations for 93 technicians and 27 crewmembers.
Equipment will include a 3D motion compensated crane, a motion compensated gangway with a maximum range of 28 metres, and an integrated lift with capacity for 26 personnel.
