Modern American Recycling Services (MARS) recently acquired a diving support construction vessel (DSCV) originally built in 2013.

The Panamanian-flagged Caballo Marango, which was built by Batam, Indonesia-based Marco Polo Shipyard, will be renamed Captain America once in service with its new owners. The vessel will be operated on behalf of MARS by Shore Offshore Services.

The DP3-capable DSCV will undergo additional maintenance before commencing operations under MARS ownership by the end of 2022.

Duties will include offshore decommissioning, subsea umbilical laying and retrieval, and windfarm construction. With capacity for 399 personnel, the DSCV may also be utilised as an accommodation vessel.
