Hornbeck Offshore Services has entered into definitive vessel purchase agreements with certain affiliates of Edison Chouest Offshore to acquire a total of ten high-spec new generation offshore supply vessels (OSVs) for an undisclosed amount of cash.

Eight of the vessels are US-flagged, Jones Act-qualified, DP2 OSVs with capacities of circa 4,750 DWT. The other two vessels are Mexican-flagged DP2 OSVs with capacities of circa 3,200 DWT.

Hornbeck expects that, upon completion of regulatory drydockings to be conducted by the sellers, it will take serial deliveries of all ten vessels over the next 12 to 15 months, with the first vessel scheduled to be delivered within the next 90 days.
