Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company is moving forward with the design and development of the first US-flagged Jones Act-compliant, inclined fallpipe vessel for subsea rock installation in support of offshore renewables projects.
Pending federal permitting and regulatory approvals as well as a final investment decision, the vessel will be operational as early as the first quarter of 2024, to coincide with major offshore wind project construction timelines.
The vessel will be designed in cooperation with a Norwegian naval architecture firm and will feature air quality control system to ensure compliance with EPA Tier IV emissions standards.
