Excelerate Energy, Maran Gas ink FSRU bareboat charter

US-based Excelerate Energy and Maran Gas Maritime of Greece have entered into a five-year bareboat charter agreement including purchase options for a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU).

The FSRU is currently under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) and is scheduled for delivery to Maran Gas in April 2020 in time for the commencement of the charter.

The vessel will have a storage capacity of 173,400 cubic metres and will be capable of operating as both an FSRU and a fully tradable LNG carrier.
