DLBA Naval Architects has unveiled images of a new concept vessel designed to provide both crew transfer and accommodation services for clients in the US offshore wind market.
The 36-metre vessel is intended to make one transit to and from windfarm fields once a week instead of making daily transits. It is thus sufficiently sized to stay on site for extended periods and to allow service technicians to sleep on board overnight.
The vessel will have a semi-planing monohull of aluminium construction, a gyrostabiliser to limit roll motions, and Volvo IPS EPA Tier IV-compliant main engines.
