Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind begins survey operations off New Jersey
Published on

Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, a joint venture company between Shell New Energies US and EDF Renewables North America, has commenced survey operations off the New Jersey coast in preparation for a future wind farm construction project.

The survey will cover approximately 74,000 hectares 12 to 32 kilometres off the coast between Barnegat Light and Sea Isle City and is expected to conclude by the end of October, weather permitting.

The survey vessel Geosea will be utilised to characterise the seabed, collect samples, and determine placement of data collection buoys, which will be deployed later this year to help measure wind, ocean, and weather conditions.
