US Navy officially names future littoral combat ship Cooperstown

The US Navy officially named its newest Freedom-class littoral combat ship (LCS), the future USS Cooperstown, in a ceremony on Saturday, February 29.

The vessel is the 12th Freedom-class LCS to be built by Lockheed Martin and Marinette Marine for the US Navy.

The future Cooperstown will have a length of 115 metres and a speed of 40 knots.
