US Navy christens future attack submarine Oregon

The US Navy officially named the future attack submarine Oregon in a ceremony on Saturday, October 5.

The submarine is the 20th Virginia-class submarine and the third US Navy ship to be named after the US state of Oregon.

Delivery of the future USS Oregon is scheduled for autumn 2020. The submarine is currently under construction at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut.
