US defence contractor acquires naval architects Gibbs and Cox

US defence and technology company Leidos has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire naval architects Gibbs and Cox for US$380 million.

Leidos said the acquisition will strengthen its position in the maritime market, particularly in the unmanned vessels segment.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal year 2021, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
