Teledyne Technologies' subsidiary Teledyne Instruments has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the US Naval Undersea Warfare Center to supply autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and related monitoring and communications acoustic systems.
The initial 2019 value of the contract is approximately US$5.4 million. The award has a maximum value of US$22.2 million through December 2024, if all contract options are exercised.
The AUVs will have modular constructions to allow the integration of various mission-specific sensor packages as well as easy replacement of battery packs in the field.
