Future US Navy LCS Cooperstown launched

Lockheed Martin launched the future US Navy littoral combat ship (LCS) USS Cooperstown into the water at the Wisconsin facilities of Fincantieri Marinette Marine on Sunday, January 19.

The Freedom-class LCS is the first US Navy vessel to honour the city of Cooperstown, New York.

Once commissioned, the future Cooperstown will be assigned to Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Two homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida.
