The future US Navy guided missile destroyer USS Jack H. Lucas was floated out into the water at the facilities of Huntington Ingalls Industries' (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding on Friday, June 4.

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer honours the late Captain Jacklyn "Jack" Lucas, who at 17 years of age became the youngest World War II recipient of the Medal of Honor.

The future Jack H. Lucas is the final one of five destroyers that Ingalls Shipbuilding will deliver to the navy under a contract awarded in June 2013.
