The Burleigh County Sheriff's Department of North Dakota recently introduced a new Boston Whaler patrol boat into service.

The newbuild replaces the department's current boat, which had been in service for 12 years.

The boat was acquired at a cost of around US$65,000. It will be used for patrols and general emergency response duties along the portion of the Missouri River that passes through southern North Dakota.
