Bollinger Shipyards launched the future US Coast Guard cutter Frederick Hatch at its facilities in Lockport, Louisiana, on Wednesday, March 25.
The vessel is the 43rd to be built under the Sentinel-class of 46-metre fast response cutters (FRCs).
The cutter honours Surfman Frederick Hatch of the US Life-Saving Service, one of the predecessor agencies of the present-day US Coast Guard. Surfman Hatch had gained fame for being the only two-time recipient of the Gold Lifesaving Medal.
