General Dynamics Electric Boat and Newport News Shipbuilding have delivered the future USS Oregon, the US Navy's twentieth Virginia-class nuclear-powered attack submarine.

Like its sisters, the future Oregon is built to operate in the world's littoral and deep waters while conducting anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, strike warfare, special operations forces support, intelligence gathering, irregular warfare, and mine warfare missions.

The submarine is the third US Navy vessel to honour the state of Oregon.
