The future USS Fort Lauderdale, the US Navy's 12th San Antonio-class landing platform dock (LPD), recently completed its acceptance trials.

The trials consist of integrated testing to demonstrate the capability of the ship and its installed systems across all mission areas. These demonstrations are used to validate the quality of construction and compliance with navy specifications and requirements prior to delivery.

The future Fort Lauderdale will be delivered to the navy in the coming weeks upon completion of final outfitting Huntington Ingalls Industries' (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
