The US Army Corps Engineers' (USACE) Philadelphia District will receive approximately US$144.5 million in supplemental funding for projects and studies in the Delaware Valley and the coastal plains of Delaware and New Jersey.

The funding is from two recently enacted laws: the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the 2022 Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.

Earlier this month, the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works announced the studies, projects, and programs that are receiving funding under the two laws. Nationwide, the laws provide US$22.81 billion for the USACE Civil Works program.

Philadelphia District Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ramon Brigantti said the funding will support the maintenance dredging of navigation channels, surveys, repair of structures, and maintenance of infrastructure.
