US Air Force gets new fire rescue boat

The US Air Force recently took delivery of a new firefighting and rescue rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) from Silver Ships of Mobile, Alabama.

The ocean-capable boat has a length of 10.9 metres, a Darley firefighting pump with a rated flow of 2,100 litres of water per minute, and two Mercury Verado 223kW outboard engines that deliver a maximum speed of 43 knots.

The RHIB will be operated out of Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
