National Park Service takes delivery of catamaran pilot boat

The US National Park Service (NPS) recently took delivery of a new aluminium pilot boat designed by Jutson Marine.

Named Serac, the catamaran vessel has a length of 13.9 metres, a beam of 4.8 metres, and seating for four crew and 12 passengers. Power is provided by two John Deere 149kW engines.

Serac will be operated in the waters of Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska. Secondary duties will include cargo and personnel transport.
