Cashman Dredging and Marine Contracting of Quincy, Massachusetts, has awarded a contract to IHC America to design a new 4,900-cubic-metre trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD).
The new vessel will complement Cashman's current fleet of specialised dredging equipment and will primarily service the coastal protection and navigation maintenance markets.
The dredger is scheduled to enter service in 2024.
