Dredging works have commenced at the Port of Siuslaw in Florence, Oregon, under a joint project with the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay.

The dredging seeks to remove approximately 9,100 cubic metres of dirt from the marina to ensure that the port's basin and slipways are accessible to commercial and recreational vessels even during low tide. Sand and silt had accumulated over time, resulting in inadequate depth as well as damage to some of the dock infrastructure.

The Siuslaw port authority is utilising a cutter suction dredger and a support tug to carry out the works, which began on Wednesday, January 15.
