The 566kW Osprey was built by SJSB under a contract awarded by Royal IHC's US-based subsidiary, IHC America.

The vessel has a maximum dredging depth of 16.7 metres and will be used to perform maintenance dredging in the main ports of Wilmington and Morehead City.
