Your reviewer first read and reviewed this fine book in hardback format six years ago. Now available in high-quality paperback, the excellent and valuable content remains the same. The book is simply a little lighter and, hopefully, a bit less expensive.
It remains a brilliant example of naval history scholarship presented in a very readable form. It presents many lessons and should be carefully read by all aspiring naval officers and as many as possible of the politicians who will tell them what to do.
